A Day of Remembrance, Prayer, and Service

Today is Patriot Day in the United States, a solemn day of remembrance for our entire country. The attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 still seem so fresh to so many of us. The needless loss of thousands of lives, the heroic actions of people on Flight 93, and the selfless service of first responders in New York City and Arlington County, Virginia cause us to pause to intentionally remember so that we will never foolishly forget the value of human life, love, and service.

Earlier in the year, our Local and Global Missions Ministry Team entered into partnership with other Mainland Galveston County churches to participate in Servolution Mainland. The plan was for a great day of community service on September 13th, as a way to commemorate Patriot Day and the selfless service of so many on that day in 2001.

However, the pandemic has caused a change in activities. This coming Sunday, we will spend time in remembrance and prayer during each morning worship experience; in the afternoon, we will spend time in service and prayer.

Our Missions Team invites you to join us in front of  Bay Colony Elementary School at 2:00 pm this coming Sunday afternoon. We will pray for our schools, teachers, students, administrators, and parents. This is such an important event as we know how challenging going back to school has been for our kids and teachers. The school is located at FM 646 and Bay Colony Drive in League City.

    God bless,
