Cookies for the Community - Calling All Bakers and Baggers

    “Tis the season... to get our baking gloves on and bake for the community. Molly Deats and her team are asking for homemade sugar cookies (recipe below). The cookies will be given to everyone who attends our Live Nativity Drive Thru. 

    • Cookies need to be turned in Thursday, December 17 by 5:00 pm, or Friday, December 18 by noon.
    • Baggers will meet in The Meeting House on Friday, December 18, 1:00-3:00 pm to individually package each cookie.

    YUM YUMS
    A SOFT SUGAR COOKIE
    Preheat Oven: 350

    Ingredients:
    2 ½ cups flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 sticks real butter (softened)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 cups sugar
    3 egg yolks
     
    Directions:
    Mix together and set aside flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Cream together 2 sticks, vanilla. Gradually add sugar. Add butter, beating until fluffy. Add eggs yolks, one at a time, beating well after each. Add dry ingredients, in fourths to cream mixture. Beat just until blended. Form dough into balls about the size of a walnut. Roll in additional sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
     
    Bake 10 minutes or until edges begin to get golden.
    Makes 3 dozen - 3 inch cookies
