Fall Worship Series and Bible Study - The Tie That Binds

09.25.20 | Worship by John Matkin

This Sunday, join us for the beginning of our fall worship series - The Tie That Binds. For the next six weeks, we will be immersed in the apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Paul writes forcefully about the church being united in and through Jesus Christ: “from him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part” (4:16).

The series also includes a unique opportunity for us to hear directly from different church members about what binds them to this body of Christ, Dickinson First United Methodist. Each week before the sermon, I’ll sit down with an individual, couple, family, or group of members. We’ll hear them tell their own story in their own words - powerful stuff!

To go along with our worship series, I will be leading a special kind of Bible study on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am in the Connection Center. We’ll take a look at how hymn writers employed the imagery of Paul’s writings in Ephesians in creating some of our best-loved hymns.

Sign up for the Bible study below or call or text me (832-315-2670). Bring your own Bible, and we’ll provide the hymnals.
