For the Love of Christ and Others

For the Love of Christ and Others

This coming Sunday in our worship series Holy Vessels: A Season of Recovery, we will be focusing on the recovery of mental health, such an awesome aspect of us as God’s Holy Vessels. Mental health has turned into one of our greatest societal concerns during the pandemic. Join us for worship and get a better biblical and theological perspective of our understanding of mental health, and grab some biblical life hacks on what you can do to stay mentally healthy in these stressful days.

For the Love of Christ and Others

Dear Dickinson First Family and Friends,

For the past year, we have been following the guidance provided by the Texas Annual Conference and Houston Methodist Hospital System. Houston Methodist and other Texas Medical Center institutions employ world caliber medical researchers, epidemiologists, and immunologists. We have been blessed by their continual sharing of the most up-to-date research.

I want to share a short video from Bishop Scott Jones earlier this week: Message from Bishop. Bishop Jones’ message clearly leads us to continue with our current protocols in all of our ministry areas. I’m sure Bishop Jones’ guidance is based on the very latest information. He adds another reason to continue it, though - for the love of Christ and others. What a powerful way to make our Christian witness part of the healing we intend to enact!

We will continue to use our pieces of beach glass - and the bowl.

God bless,
Jack Matkin
