Thursday of Week Five
This is a subtitle for your new post

“Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” —Psalm 46:10
After twice canceling this trip, at last it was happening! In September 2024, we set out for Bryce Canyon, Utah pulling our 5th wheel camping ("glamping") trailer on a quest for mountains, hiking trails and waterfalls. We anticipated all of this with an eagerness for adventure beyond flat sandy terrain and high humidity. It promised to be an action-packed vacation. We enjoyed much of the action with horseback rides on cliff hugging mountain trails (with assurance from the guide that the horse did not want to fall any more than we did), hikes through the water, and tours into caves.
But there were also those moments that God stopped us in our tracks, and we could almost hear His voice saying, "Be still! Know that I am God!" How could we doubt it? The majestic mountains and rock formations took our breath away. There are all sorts of scientific explanations of how the mountains and canyons were formed, but none of those can bring the sense of God's peace, power and presence that we felt. What a miraculous gift we were given in those moments.
God knows we can easily miss this blip in time, so He commands us to, "Be still!” Don't rush through this life so fast that you miss the miracle. Allow God's peace, power, and presence to surround you this Lenten season.
