"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." —Philippians 4:6-7

I see anxiety around me and in my space regularly, which wasn’t always the case. Prayer and conversation help keep this in check. While growing up and navigating athletics, school and relationships, anxiety was rarely something that came into play.

I find that in prayer, both intentionally planned and spontaneously as needed, I am asking more and more for peace and patience for myself, my loved ones and the community around me. I have come to believe that peace is more than just the absence of chaos and anxiety, but the presence of kindness and resilience in the face of adversity. It is a steppingstone for nurturing and personal growth.

Today, I am most at peace after prayer and after sharing experiences with my family and friends. I find that spending time together and strengthening our bonds over an experience or good conversation generally gives me a reset on what is important in life. I cherish the time we get to spend loving each other and lifting each other up by spending real time together. I want to continue to do and see as much as we can together.
