A Quiet Center - Lenten Devotional
Thank you for joining us on this journey of recentering ourselves with Christ. Hymnist, Shirley Erena Murray, writes, “Come and find the quiet center in the crowded life we lead, find the room for hope to enter, find the frame where we are freed.” Each day, beginning the day after Ash Wednesday, we will clear the chaos and clutter of our minds and meet in the quiet center with Jesus and our friends at Dickinson First United Methodist Church. Through scripture, thoughtful testimonies written by our fellow sojourners, and opportunities of response, we will meditate in the quiet center with God, so that we might hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit speaking love to us and to our world.
A Quiet Center: A Lenten Devotional will be available in The Commons starting March 5, 2024, at our Ash Wednesday services. A daily online edition will be available as well at that time on our website. A Quiet Center will take us through Wednesday of Holy Week, but requests that you not end your journey there. Let us meet in person on Maundy Thursday in the Upper Room and Good Friday at the cross, both at 7pm in the sanctuary. Friends, come, “clear our eyes, that we can see all the things that really matter, be at peace, and simply be.”
A special thanks goes to all of our authors. It is our prayer that you find hope and strength in each other’s words and through the calming peace of our Christ.
